BIRD WATCHING KENYA
Exploring Beyond Twilight
Exploring Beyond Twilight
Bird watching Kenya was thought out by Moses Kandie, a professional teacher turned passionate tour guide. In his earlier years he assisted birders in Lake Baringo to spot difficult nocturnals like owls, coursers, nightjars, bathawk and the rest of birds within his locality. Through this interaction, his knowledge soared as he mingled with great guides like Terry Stevenson, Hillary Galland, who were resident ornithologists at Lake Baringo Club a number of years ago.
This has since then opened up linkage to the entire world of birders. He has been guiding for Swedish Heliangelus Natur resor, Finnish Olympia Air Travel and is the appointed professional birding guide in Kenya for the global Birdingpal Tours.
Birdwatching Kenya, intends to use this invaluable experience to enable birders get their target species without much hustle. Being all over the place, we have undisputed local network of sharp guides through out the hotspots , like David Ngala for Arabuko/Sokoke specialties, Lazarus for Hinde’s babbler, Jonham for Taita endemics plus many others.
The other aspect is price , we intend to offer pocket-friendly trips that suits people of all walks of life. This is possible through local-guides involvement where a client has means around a certain area and only needs linking.
We also intend to partner with other guides all over the world to ensure that fairer rate for their personal visits is achievable in Kenya. This tour firm will also be open to collaboration with any other birding tour firms around the globe for guide-hire at some point or throughout their trips in Kenya.
Birdwatching Kenya will be open to offer information freely for independently traveling birders if reached out for help.
We have over the years worked with various international and regional travel agents and tour companies. Some are listed below:
I can highly recommend Moses Kandie as a bird and nature tour guide. He is a true professional when it comes to organize birding tours and safaris, also for bigger groups. His identification skills and ability to spot species are excellent without any doubt. When these qualities are combined with a wide knowledge of birding hotspots, you will have a great tour with Moses.
In February, we had the pleasure to go with Moses Kandie as a tour guide during a three week tour of Kenya. The trip was professional and well thought out. We went in two cars with two talented drivers. It was a great advantage with two cars, there was plenty of space, we could split up if we wanted, it was possible to shift the traveling companions from one day to another.
It was easy and pleasant to travel with Moses. We traveled in western Kenya in various national parks and reserves. It was varied and well balanced. All schedules worked perfectly and there was still room for improvisation. Moses handled the group skillfully and politely. He had a well thought out program, but also listened to our requests
We were impressed by Moses´s skills, birds are his specialty but he’s also very well-educated. He has a wide network of contacts and used the help of other persons when special knowledge was needed such as local knowledge.
Moses is a generous person, he has a great sense of humor, a big heart and the ability to understand our needs in a good way. We will not hesitate to hire him again when we travel on safari in Kenya.
an extraordinary trip, where we observed not only a great number of birds, but also many more mammals (and what observations, sometimes!) than we expected. We really enjoyed this trip with Moses Kandie and Maxwell Kilango.
